Shinko 230 Tour Master Tires

| March 20, 2013 | 2 Comments

Yesterday I ordered some Shinko 230 Tour Master tires from Motorcycle Superstore.  I’ve looked around a number of places for my size, in tubeless, and hadn’t found much.  As suggested by another XS 750 owner, he’d recommended I go a little larger than standard on my rear wheel because he said he always felt like he needed a 6th gear otherwise.

Rear: 130/90V-18

Front: 110/90V-19

In many areas I’m a firm believer in ‘you get what you pay for’.  These babies ain’t winning any beauty contests, but for up to 234 reviews depicting little break in time, excellent wet and dry condition handling, great cornering, and getting a 4.5 out of 5 stars I can’t argue. Price total after an additional %5 off March Madness sale coupon came to $132.98 with free shipping.

Expected delivery is this week.  Looking forward to trying ’em out soon!

* Update – the 130/90V-18 is about 1/4 of an inch too wide, and rubs against the inside of the drive shaft housing.  I’m going to be going with a 120/90V-18 now instead in the 230 Tour Master.
