Craftsmen, a dying breed

| November 19, 2011 | 0 Comments

I grew up around craftsmen. My father is one (machinist), and my grandfather was one. One of our neighbors had a shop out behind his house.  Growing up I spent a lot of time out there while the men were tinkering. When I was 9, my father and I built a Sand Rail (Dune Buggy). Since then I’ve always liked the smell of machines, oil, and even exhaust.

I saw the following video today and it got me wondering. My professional days are spent in front of multiple computers, in a cubicle.  I love what I do for my day job.  But is my Cafe project an attempt to recapture something?  Or possibly, preserve something?  Dunno.
