Just about ready to pull engine

Made a lot of progress the past couple days.  Pulled the carbs and again revisited my home filled with 2+ year old gasoline fumes.  My wife’s patience seems to know no bounds, kinda.  Removed the lights and remaining electrical, indicators, dials, etc.  Had a hell of a time getting the bike up on the center stand.  No matter what I did I couldn’t get the bike rolling enough to force it up on the stand, so I had to place a floor jack under the engine and jack it up high enough to get the stand underneath it.  I also couldn’t find a way to get the spring connected to the center stand and frame.

Left side foot pegs, passenger pegs, and clutch came off easily.  Right side pegs and kick start came off easily, but rear brake isn’t budging yet.  Tried to take the oil plug out and drain the case but it’s stripped all to hell.  Probably gonna need to drill and use and easy out.  Fudge…..

I’ve flipped flopped back and forth on wanting to pull the entire engine apart.  I was going to look and see first if there are any metal flakes in the oil, but a number of bolts I’ve pulled out have looked a bit corroded so I’ve made the decision I’m gonna tear it all apart.  I’ve still got at least until May to get this thing up and running, so plenty of time.
